Portland Trailblazers Mid Season Surge
This season the Portland Trailblazer have started out 19-26. Their last game was a loss against the Atlanta Hawks. The Blazers are hoping they can turn their season around to make the playoffs. As of right now the Blazers are 10 in the western conference right behind the Utah Jazz and the Houston Rockets.
The Blazers, at home have been 8-7 [eight wins and seven losses]. On the road though, it has not been as successful. The Blazers have had a record of 7-15 [seven wins and 15 losses] on the road. Fortunately for the Blazers, 11 out of the 14 next games will be at home. Some key players who have been helping out the team have been Damian Lillard and C.J. Mccollum. Lillard has been leading the team in points per game [24.3]. As for Mccollum, he leads the team in steals and three point percentage with 39.8. In rebounds, Mason Plumlee leads the team with eight a game.
“I think with few wins in the next few weeks we could be a playoff team” said Yovani Reyes ‘18
As for big upcoming games, the Blazers play the Houston Rockets and the Golden State Warriors back to back on Feb. 10 and 19. The Rockets have started the season 20-20 [20 wins and 20 losses], with James Harden as their leading scorer. The Warriors started out 24-0 [24 wins and zero losses] with Stephen Curry as their leading scorer. The Blazers will have to be on their game for those games if they want to come out on top. Those games will be crucial to the Blazer playoff chances due to the fact that they are not in the playoff picture as of right now. The Blazers need this mid season surge for a playoff run.
