New Restaurants Opening in Salem
With the expansion of Salem Oregon, it would only make sense that restaurants are popping up quite regularly nowadays.
One of these new establishments is Tres M Bistro, located at 295 Church St. SE.
“We are open Monday to Saturday, 8 A.M. to 4 P.M. We will eventually be open seven days a week,” Joan Taylor, the owner of Tres M Bistro, said.
Taylor has owned a number of restaurants, but now only focuses on her newest business, Tres M Bistro. Taylor founded the restaurant on Jan. 16.
“The food here is european inspired,” Taylor said. “All the food we sell here is fresh from scratch, all made in house, and is grown or raised locally.”
“A new business opening up in our community is greatly beneficial, especially if it is locally owned.” Javan Kargel ‘17 said.
Another restaurant that has just recently opened in Salem is The Kitchen on Court Street. It is owned by Bernard Malherbe, and opened up in 2014. This restaurant serves a variety of foods, from salad to meatloaf.
“The Kitchen on Court Street has some great dishes I could never make at home, and the service was excellent,” Cage Campbell ‘17 said.
The hours of The Kitchen on Court Street are from 7 a.m.. to 11 p.m. Monday-Friday, and is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.. on Saturday and Sunday.
One other new restaurant that has recently opened in Salem is Shotskis Woodfired Pizza. It is owned by Josh Parker, and is located at 1230 State St. They serve Wood Fired pizza, pita-pockets, and calzones, along with a variety of beverages. The restaurant’s hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day of the week.
“A new restaurant will lead to new foods for the people of Salem, giving us more of a choice.” Harmony Alvarez ‘17 said. “This is good for the growth of the city when new restaurants open up.”
