Academic Achievement/NHS Ceremony Tonight
Today, April 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Auditorium, South will be honoring National Honor Society [NHS] inductees and Juniors and Seniors who have earned Academic Honors. Since 1921 the NHS has been recognizing high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character in school. The NHS is guided by four main purposes: to constitute enthusiasm for scholarship, to arouse a desire to provide service, to promote leadership, and to develop the character of students in high school. Students who apply for an NHS scholarship can win up to $15,500.
This is South’s thirty third year honoring students who model the four pillars of NHS.
