South Salem’s varsity football team traveled to Sheldon today to play in their first round of playoffs against the Fighting Irish. The Fighting Irish are ranked 6th in the state and finished 2nd in the Southwest Conference.
The Saxons fell to the Irish 46-14. Collin Vogt ‘18 scored first for the Saxons with a rushing touchdown followed by Andres Delgado ‘18 with a receiving touchdown.
Since the brackets are single elimination, tonight ended the season for the Saxons. Sheldon will continue on in round two playoffs to face Lincoln, who beat Reynolds earlier in the night.
