The Keizer Parade of Lights Returns for 2016

Many members of the community were sad to hear that the Keizer Parade of Lights was going to be cancelled in 2015 after the couple that organized it retired. The community rallied and organized with the Keizer Chamber of Commerce to put the event together for the 2016 holiday season. The event is a large part of the Keizer community holidays, and is a tradition that many members wanted to continue. With the help of the community, the Keizer Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the tradition will be carried out on Dec. 10 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The parade itself is a well known nighttime festivity that is renowned for being the biggest holiday parade this side of Mississippi, and has been around since 1989.
“It’s so pretty,” Selbie Christensen ‘18, a Keizer citizen, said.
The Keizer Chamber of Commerce will also be holding a Holiday Tree Lighting on Dec. 6. Families are invited to come to Walery Plaza and enjoy the lights, community, and Christmas carols played by The Grand Jazz Band at 6:00 p.m.
