Winter Wind Blows Again

Co-written by Samantha Riesterer and Mackenzie Rolf.
A picture encapsulates the winter wonder of snow in West Salem before the copious amounts of closures that led to an extended winter break for students.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through 4 a.m Friday with up to 50 mph gusts of wind. Southward winds from the Arctic are set to move through Canada and into the Gorge by Tuesday night, causing snow levels to rise.
Near freezing temperatures are predicted through Wednesday, with a warm front set to move from the South Willamette Valley up North starting Thursday into Friday. As of now, Thursday also marks the possibility of freezing rain and 1-2 inches of snow beginning in the afternoon and continuing over the next two days. Temperatures are expected to rise above freezing on Saturday and end the winter weather advisory.
