Saxon Football Falls to McMinnville 23-21

The Saxon Football team fell to the Mcminnville Grizzlies in a close one on Friday night 23-21.
The Saxons led at half 14-13, but were unable to score in the 3rd, as the Grizzlies added another 10 points to their score, scoring a touchdown and kicking a field goal. The Saxons scored in the 4th and had an opportunity to kick a field goal that would put them up one in the final minutes of the game, unfortunately a poor snap sealed the deal for the Grizzlies.
Regardless of the outcome, the Saxons battled with the seven ranked Grizzlies in the first game playing Mcminnville in a non-league matchup, as the Grizzlies joined the Pacific Conference this year. Saxon quarterback Elijah Enomoto-Haole ‘19 passed for 184 yards and a touchdown on 11 passes, throwing only five incomplete passes in the game. Ryan Rickman ‘20 rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns and Treyden Harris ‘19 had three catches for 91 yards and a one-handed touchdown catch in the loss.
