Saxons Basketball Takes Bend Road Trip

The Saxon basketball teams are going on a road trip to bend in the next few days to take on two of their league opponents to get closer to the end of their league season. Both the girls and boys varsity squads play Bend and Summit on Friday and Saturday respectively.

The boys varsity team won their previous matchups to both Bend and Summit when they played at home. The Saxons, currently with a 16-4 record (9-1 in league), are ranked 4 according to OSAA, the Bend Lava Bears are currently ranked 31 in the state with a 10-11 overall record and 4-7 league record, and the Summit Storm have a 40 ranking in the state with their 6-14 overall record and 3-7 league record. The last matchup with the Lava Bears ended with a 72-61 win and their last matchup with the Storm also ended with a win with a score of 69-50. The game versus Bend will be played tonight at Bend High School at 6:30pm and ther game versus Summit will be played at 2:30pm on Saturday, Feb. 16.

The girls team is also playing the Bend Lava Bears and Summit Storm over the next two days. The Lady Saxons are currently ranked 15-5 overall with a 9-1 league record to go along with their 13 rank in the state. The Lava Bears currently have a 13-8 record with a 9-2 league record and a 26 ranking by OSAA and the Storm are currently ranked 35 with their 10-10 overall record and 5-5 league record. The Lady Saxons won against the Lava Bears in their last matchup with a score of 43-35 and also won against the Storm by a score of 63-49. The girls will take on Bend on Friday at 5pm and will take on the Storm on Saturday at 1pm.
