The Saxon boys lacrosse team’s first game on March 18 did not start off how they would have liked to. South lost against Roseburg 10-4, but bounced back against Century and won 13-10 on April first.
The next three games of the season on April 5, 8 and the 12 did not fare as well as the second game did. The Saxons lost against McNary 3-15. Then lost against Ridgeview 7-10 and against West Salem 2-13.
“We have the potential to be a great team but with our limited numbers we get tired out quickly,” Colton Lee ‘18 said.
“We could improve by working on our mental toughness and not quitting no matter the situation” Lucas Hildahl ‘18 said.
As the season keeps on going, the struggle continues to grow. On April 15 the Saxons fell in overtime to West Albany 13-14, in a game that they were winning up until the last quarter. West Albany was able to pull a comeback finish. Then in the next game against Corvallis, the Saxons lost again 10-17.
