Mother’s Day is a day to honor moms, and to thank them for everything they have done for the family. This year Mother’s Day takes place on May 8, 2016.
“We need to have a specific day to remember our moms and to kind of have a day to symbolize how much we love them.” Faith Bartolo ‘16 said.
Moms play a role in people’s everyday lives, and having a day for them shows the appreciation that they deserve.
“My mom plays a huge role, she’s pretty much my role model. She’s a really strong woman and i kind of want to grow up to be like her,” Bartolo said.
Things people can do for mothers to show appreciation includes giving flowers, chocolate, making breakfast, or cleaning. Showing recognition in any way can possibly turn a mother’s day around, and show that you care.
“We don’t always give them the recognition they need because they do a lot for us and i think it’s important to be grateful for what they give us,” Emma Wiseman ‘16 said.
Mother’s also serve to give structure to people’s lives. They guide people and pass down the wisdom that they learned from mothers before.
“She’s makes a huge impact, she makes me the person I am today and without her I’d probably be really different, and she’s always there for me,” Bartolo said.
Parents can be some of the best teachers, and each one teaches differently. Mothers give a caring hand to help, and can be an amazing person to reach out to.
“She does so many great things for me that I’m really she’s here,” Wiseman said.
So this Mother’s Day, show moms everywhere the love and compassion they deserve, and give recognition to all their hard work.
