On Saturday, April 30, South will be holding its annual prom at Mission Mill for upperclassmen. The theme of the dance this year is Ancient Greece, which will be incorporated by South’s leadership team through decorations and costumes of their own. These decorations will include columns modeled after Ancient Greek architecture, as well as posters made by students. In addition to this, members of leadership will be adorned in togas while running the coat closet and serving the food.

“I love seeing everybody show up in their dresses, that’s like my favorite thing, and seeing everybody dressed up just working there. You get to watch and imagine being an upperclassmen next year and it’s going to be so fun,” leadership member Anna Despain ‘18 said.
Tickets for prom are currently being sold at the bookkeeper’s office for $20 per person. Nominations for Prom King and Prom Queen are also being accepted with the purchase of tickets. For those planning on wearing tuxedos to the dance, advertisements to receive $50 off formal wear at Mr. Formal have appeared around the school.

“I like people, so I think it’s going to be a good way to spend time with friends, and have it be a school thing as well,” Sandra Lezema ‘16 said. “It’s the last high school dance I’m going to be able to go to.”
