Cross Country Kicking Off this Summer

South’s cross country team will begin practice this summer in preparation for the coming season this fall. Highlights from last year include a second place win at districts for the girls team, and an individual fourth place win at state for runner Anna Chau ‘19.
Chau as well as several of the team’s other top performers return this year, including Hailey Clifford ‘17, Thomas Burney ‘17, and Jay Grant ‘19.
“I’m looking forward to improving and having our team spaghetti feeds again,” Chau said. “I’m hoping to keep improving my time and recruit some new people.”
Last year’s head coach Alisha Murdoch is also coming back this season with some goals already in mind.
“On the girls side, since we were really successful last year, I’d like to see them move up to the next level this year, because they did a really good job,” Murdoch said. “On the guys side we’re building a little bit, and putting everyone together I think we’re gonna have some good new people out and we’re gonna have a chance of doing really well.”
