South’s varsity football team has rolled past their opponents for two straight weeks, beating both West Albany and McNary by a combined 18 points which improved their record to 2-1 in the GVC.
“In week two we played more Saxon football,” receiver and defensive back for the Saxons Collins Vogt ‘18 said, “it’s just continuing to grow up.”
South’s key player in those games was Harrison Broadus ‘17. He has passed for 342 yards and 5 passing touchdowns in those two weeks as well as running for 2 rushing touchdowns.
The Saxons are preparing their game against the McMinnville Grizzlies, who have a current record of 3-0, and are ranked 4th in the state of Oregon.
The Saxon’s opponents after McMinnville are all in town games against North Salem, McKay, and West Salem, which will all be competitive games.
