Thursday, Oct. 20 the Saxon volleyball team played McNary, and celebrated senior night with their only senior on the team, Riley Tiffin ‘17. Tiffin has been a valued team member over the past two years, and being the most experienced member of the Saxon team has made her a key figure on and off the court. Her guidance has helped lead the fairly young team to being state champion contenders.
The Saxons are ranked 11 in state currently by OSAA, and are ranked 2 in the Greater Valley Conference [GVC], trailing a West team that is built up primarily on seniors. South’s volleyball program has a serious shot at making it deep into the playoffs as a top tier team in Oregon. The Saxon’s first playoff game will be Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. against Grants Pass.
