Saxon Radio One [SRO] has gotten off to a great start this year with its student produced podcasts. This year is exciting, because all of the podcasters know the process and how everything works, so they were really able to hit the ground running. Another exciting thing this year is the amount of new things we are trying. We currently have four different podcasts going, each of them having the same amount of time and love put into them. All but one of these is new, the only returning podcast being Hayden Cobos’ Saxon View. One of these new podcasts that is quite great is Anna Scherer’s What’s Your Issue? that highlights different stories and members of the Clypian crew each week on Fridays. Eric Wunderlich II is certainly not a new face, err, voice to SRO, but his new show No Excuses is, bringing with it sick cover art, and a unique look at the past, present, and future. If these are not cool enough, then the Saxon Radio One Co Optional Podcast brings together all three of these talented creators and showcases their opinions on what is going on right now.
Another new practice going on at Saxon Radio One is a new way of posting. To deal with there being limited space on their Soundcloud account, SRO has come up with a new way to recycle space. Every time a new episode of a podcast is posted, an old one is taken down. This means that there should always be two episodes of each podcast at any given time. This not only recycles space, but also keeps the feed and profile less cluttered, more timely, and more streamlined.
It has almost been a full year since Saxon Radio One has existed in one form or another, going from a station on the now defunct Live 365 online radio service to soundcloud profile with over 300 listens, and more followers daily. If you have not already, listen to some of the best high school podcasters in the state of Oregon. Just as you the viewer support the Clypian, please support Saxon Radio One, which is the podcasting imprint of the Clypian. This Friday, new episodes of What’s Your Issue? and No Excuses are scheduled, so always stay tuned for more!
