Oregon teams are keeping a lookout for the repeat OSAA 6A state champions with the return of some key players such as Evina Westbrook ‘17 and Dani Harley ‘17.

The Saxon Men’s Varsity Basketball team is currently 2-0 [two wins, zero losses] overall. The boys managed to beat South Eugene [65-64], and Beaverton [66-65] in close games during their preseason. The Saxon boys will be facing tough competition this year in the Greater Valley Conference [GVC] and in tournaments.
“It’s a totally different team,” Gavin Baughman ‘17 said. “We can get back to the state tournament but it’ll be a real challenge.”
The team came out of last season with a record of 26-3 [26 wins, three losses]. Many teams in the GVC have their eyes on the Saxons to see how they handle the loss of a handful of seniors from last year, along with a lot of the height on the roster.
