Jaden Nielsen-Skinner ‘19 is the starting point guard for the South Salem boys varsity basketball team. Last year, Nielsen-Skinner started on the varsity team, playing mostly with seniors, and he has plans to start on the varsity team this season as well.
“I can definitely work harder in practice, not take any days off, always work hard, and make sure my guys are in check,” Nielsen-Skinner said.
He is known for flashy passes and an amazing shooting ability. Overall, he has been an invaluable resource for the Saxon offense and should continue to be an asset for the Saxons going into the 2016-2017 season.
“I am definitely a leader, I have to be a leader now because we lost two seniors that were leaders so I probably play the main role of being a leader,” Nielsen-Skinner said. “I think we will do just as good as we did last year, we have some young guys and we are a smaller team but if we play the right way we will be back [to the playoffs].”
Nielsen-Skinner is looking forward to the upcoming season as they try to be League Champions four years in a row, and make a deep run in the playoffs.
