Alliance Club Capital F.C Timbers Partners with Portland Timbers U-23

Capital Fútbol Club Timbers has been an alliance club with the Portland Timbers since 2013, meant to develop young soccer players to eventually reach the collegiate or Professional level. The Timbers U-23 confirmed that they will advance down to the south in Salem, the capital of Oregon, to provide resources for the club and enhance player recruitment in a way that will be beneficial for both the alliance club and the Timbers U-23 team.

The Timbers U-23 team competes in the PDL [Premier Development League] which has top teams from all over the country from the age 23 and under. 70% of players that have been drafted from the Major League Soccer Draft have had PDL experience. Since the founding of the Timbers U-23 team, they have developed five players into the first team, along with current starter keeper, Jake Gleeson. Timbers 2 currently has the outstanding forward, Kharlton Belmar, the 2015 USL rookie of the year. The Timbers U-23 team made history in 2010 with the perfect record of 16-0-0, which made them the first undefeated champion in PDL history.

Capital Fútbol Club has been a successful club over the years and has developed 154 players to the collegiate level, having 27 accepted into the Portland Timbers Academy and Portland Thorns Academy. CFC has proven to have a great youth developmental soccer club, and this move to partner up with the Timbers U-23 team will develop more young players to the collegiate and professional level.
