Paul Rudnick and Elton John have signed on as writers of the musical adaptation of the 2006 hit movie, and 2003 book The Devil Wears Prada. No timeline has been set for the production or casting, but the director, Kevin McCollum, has been working on the project for two years now.
John was nominated in 1998 for a Tony award in the category of best score for the broadway musical The Lion King. Rudnik has also worked on Broadway as a composer, lyricist, and playwright.
“Reimagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theater is super exciting,” John said. “I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
