The Saxon boys and girls varsity basketball teams both won their respective games against McKay last night, on Feb. 21. Both teams closed out their regular seasons with wins; boys finished the night with a ten point win, beating the Royal Scots 87-77. Tyler Wadleigh ‘19 shot for 28 points, 4 of which were three pointers. His performance, along with support from the bench, sealed the game for the Saxons.
The lady Saxons finished their game with a significant lead against the Royal Scots. In the 75-31 lopsided victory, Evina Westbrook ‘17 and Dani Harley ‘17 were a consistent scoring duo. They were not participating in play as frequently due to the score deficit, so bench players scored the majority of the game’s points. Both teams finished the season on a high note, building momentum to bring into playoffs during the coming weeks.
