The Saxon Photography Club is hosting their latest Photography Contest starting May 1, and is inviting any interested Saxons to participate. The Photography Club started hosting monthly contests a few months ago, each with a different theme. This upcoming contest will be judged based on the theme of “Spring” and entries are due May 31.
Any Saxon can select up to three pieces of original, school appropriate photography that fits the contest theme, and either bring them to Room 11 or DM the submissions to @saxonphoto on Instagram.
The winners of the contest will be broadcasted on the announcements, as well as on the Saxon Photography Club Instagram account, @saxonphoto, and winners will receive a card for a free small Jamba Juice.
“It’s just a fun way to share our love of photography with all the students at South that might not have the time to be in our club, or maybe don’t know about it,” Aubrey Olsen ‘20 said, a member of the Saxon Photography Club. “We’ve had a lot of success so far, with really great entries, but we’re looking to expand the competition.”
The Photography Club’s next meeting will be on May 9 at 2:30 p.m. and will continue to meet every other Tuesday after. Owning a camera is not necessary for participating in either the club or the contest, and photos taken with a phone are welcome.
