The South Salem girls basketball season is officially over after their first round loss to Jesuit by a score of 38-21. The Saxons started off the season with a rough patch going below .500 but were on a roll as of late winning the last 4 out of 5 games before last nights game. The Saxons ranked 25 going into the playoffs but didn’t have enough to beat Jesuit.
Although it was a tough loss, the team is still very young having many underclassmen playing significant minutes. But, there were 6 seniors that have officially ended their high school basketball careers.
Next year is looking to improve and make a deeper run into the playoffs with a more experienced team. The boys are still in the playoffs with their first round playoff game against Barlow tonight at 7pm.
