Ryan Brown ‘19, a pitcher for the Saxons, has been drafted by the New York Yankees in the 26th round of the MLB Draft. Brown was slated to be a walk-on for Oregon State University before he became the first Oregon high school player to be drafted in this year’s draft.
In his last season with the Saxons, Brown held a 4-0 record in conference, pitching 23 â…” innings, striking out 37 and keeping his ERA at 1.77, while leading his team to the Mountain Valley Conference title.
Also delivering at the plate, Brown finished with a .346 batting average and racked up 12 RBIs.
