This week South’s boys basketball team will be taking part in the Capital City Classic, a highly competitive basketball tournament played at Willamette University beginning Dec. 18.
Currently 3-0 the Saxons are looking forward to the tough competition featured at the tournament, highlighted by the appearance of Rancho Christian High School. Rancho Christian, a basketball powerhouse hailing from Temecula California, is full of talent, including ESPN’s number one ranked player, 7’0” Evan Mobley.
The teams from Oregon will be just as tough, featuring schools like Tigard, West Salem and Silverton who finished 3rd in last years OSAA 5a tournament.
South’s first game is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 19 against West Albany High School.
