Give The Perfect Gift This Holiday Season

The holiday season is a perfect time for ice skating, baking cookies, spending time with loved ones and giving gifts. With so many friends and family to give gifts to, is it possible to get everyone something they will love?

Parents are hard to shop for. What will they like? What do they need? Sometimes gifts are just too hard to find. No need to worry, parents love all sorts of things! Chocolate is always a good choice, as something sweet will satisfy anyone. Blankets and books are good too, useful and enjoyable. Slippers and mugs are always a safe choice too.

“I generally try to get a book for each of my family members,” Logan Scottland ‘22 said.

If something material won’t do, treat them out to an experience. Take them out for food, a treat or even send them to the beach for a day trip. At the end of the day, parents will appreciate anything given to them. Hand make something for them, or write a note. The present itself doesn’t really matter, but they will appreciate any effort put in.

Siblings, though it may be easier to guess what they want, are sometimes harder to shop for than parents. Siblings, especially younger ones, won’t always appreciate just a simple card. Chocolate and candy are always good. Games are something you can give to siblings as well, because they are fun for them and fun for the whole family. Even if they are not big on reading, books are also a good option if you know what interests them.

Tickets to something they’ve really wanted to see is an easy way to their heart. Take them to see their favorite movie, a concert, to their favorite play or an event happening at the time. Treating them out to a fun experience is another way to give them a gift. Take them out bowling, go ice skating or go out to eat.

Friends are often the easiest people to shop for, and the most fun. Foods such as chocolate candy and hot chocolate mix are easy, small additions for good friends. Self care items such as lotions and face masks are things anyone can use and enjoy the results of. Funny personalized items such as socks can make them laugh, or go for a good old hand made gift. Everyone appreciates something handmade.

Teachers can be hard to shop for. Getting them school supplies they are in need of or a new lanyard is a good way to help them out. Chocolate once again is a good choice and the same goes for mug. Gift cards to various places are a good idea too.

Money isn’t always an option when it comes to the holiday season and gift giving. Using things found anywhere, there are a multitude of good DIY’s to make and give. Ornaments are a fun easy DIY craft to make. You can also create an ornament using any number of things. Then attach a string to it and hang it on the tree or gift it to someone.Ornaments are good to give and easy to make.

The holidays are a fun time both to give a receive gifts. With pre-planned gifts and shopping plans, holiday shopping can be a lot of fun!
