The Perfect Present For Your Valentine

Finding a Valentine’s Day gift for a significant other can always be a difficult task. Traditional routes are always an option, such as flowers, chocolates and a stuffed animal or the gift can be customized for it to have a more personal meaning. It can be more than just a gift, plan a personalized fun activity, such as dinner or a movie.

Personal gifts usually are customized to have a certain meaning that only the couple will understand. A good personalized gift is something that pertains to the other’s interest.

“Some ideas I have are movies and tv series discs like “The Office” since my boyfriend loves that show,” Emily Hargis ‘21 said.

A personalized gift that is becoming more common is a love box that sends messages between the couple when they are not together. Another great idea for a gift is a jar filled with 100 things loved about the other person.

There is also the possiblility of a homemade meal rather than buying one at a restaurant. A great example is making desserts such as chocolate strawberries, cake, pie, cookies, truffles or strawberry shortcake. Making a favorite meal that is more savory than sweet is also a very good idea.

“If you’re also low on money you could just do a cute little DIY gift like homemade chocolate covered strawberries or cook a meal for them,” Kaitlyn Sablan ‘20 said.

Common gifts have some sentimental value, as well, because of the simple acknowledgement of the other person. A few good places to get a quick gift is Fred Meyer, Roths, Walmart and Walgreens.

Plan on going out to dinner at a restaurant to have a simple date night at a favorite restaurant.

Valentine’s Day gifts can be stressful, but keeping in mind the other person’s favorite things is a sure way to succeed on this upcoming holiday.
