On Friday, over 1000 protestors gathered for the 51st day of Black Lives Matter events in Portland. This event came as Portland received national attention following the deployment of federal officers into the city by President Trump. These officers have faced criticism from across the country for indiscriminate violence resulting in life-threatening injuries, as well as, their use of unmarked vehicles and unidentifiable uniforms when taking people into custody. On Friday, federal officers used riot control munitions, tear gas, smoke canisters, pepper spray and more in an attempt to disperse the largely peaceful crowd. Read the full story here.
