Portland’s 59th consecutive day of protests occurred on the evening of July 25 when thousands gathered the Justice Center and Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse. The protest began with a peaceful assembly of chanting and speaking in the evening. However, the night was marked with more conflict between federal officers and protestors. In the early morning hours the reinforced fence around the federal courthouse was pulled down. The assembly was declared unlawful by federal officers and a riot by Portland Police.
