This app is for gym-goers forced to lipread Good Morning America to get through a cardio session. For the sports fans that gather at a restaurant to watch the game and struggle to read the commentary subtitles. With an IOS app called Tunity, users can scan a muted or low-volume TV and access the audio from their phones. Tunity requires an internet connection or cellular data to function and only works with live programs. For data users, Tunity audio streaming uses data at about 20Kbps.

Richard Drumm of the Charlottesville Astronomical Society called this SkySafari his “planetarium app of choice.” It uses high-quality telescope software to identify stars, planets and other celestial bodies when held up to the sky, and supply users with interesting scientific, historical, and mythological information about them. The app even works during the daytime with the Augmented Reality (AR) feature. Other features included virtual audio tours of the cosmos, a database of astronomy news and information, and the ability to view a virtual depiction of space in the past or future for those who want to see celestial events like eclipses, or meteor showers. As of September 2021, it was the third most popular app in the “Reference” category on IOS. Free alternatives include SkyView, SkyLive, Starwalk, and Night Sky.

Rated #1 among IOS’s “Reference” apps as of September2021, Wolfram Alpha uses computer intelligence to answer the questions that Google can’t. The ability to input images instead of words to solve, for example, a math problem, is restricted to WolframAlpha subscribers, as are “enhanced step-by-step solutions.” Subscription fees are $6.99 per month or up to $65.99 per year.
