Mask rule change
On Dec. 6, the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Department of Education’s policy on masks was changed. Masks are no longer required outdoors, though to be clear existing rules like social distancing [even outside], wearing masks inside and others still apply.
State testing incoming
On Dec. 13, the Department of Education gave a 30-day notice for state testing. The date range for grades 9-12 officially starts on Jan. 11 — it may start later but at least no sooner!
Clarification on emergency delays
Last month’s TMIS showed how to make sure you get emergency closure/delay notifications. The district did end up having a two hour delay on Dec. 14. Though one last unclear part is how a two hour delay would be handled on a Wednesday with it’s normal hour late start. A two hour delay works off the Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday bell schedule regardless of what day it is.
