This Month In Salem-Keizer: February 2022

Semester 2 Starts

Semester two started with a B day, meaning B days are the new A days: the classes that are ahead are now on B days, not A days.

COVID-19 Updates

All spectator limits on SKPS athletics and performing arts activities have been removed, only requiring that all spectators five years or older wear a mask indoors.

For students that are not-fully vaccinated and do not have symptoms but have been exposed to COVID-19, the district plans to implement a “Test to Stay” program where as long as someone continues to test negative and has no symptoms they can keep going to school during their quarantine period. Registration for this program is done through accepting a consent form accessible in ParentVue in the online registration tab, when it becomes available.

Additionally, separate from this program, an optional student screening program was introduced for all students. This gives the opportunity to get a COVID-19 test done weekly free of charge, regardless of vaccination status or COVID-19 exposure.
