“The Batman” has made 600.4 million at the box office which is basically how much money a movie has made from ticket sales, so even if the movie does not do good in the future it did pretty well now. During the beginning days of when the movie was very talked-about and many fans were very excited to see what was to come of Robert Pattinson’s Batman. The movie took approximately eighteen months to make. It was delayed once during the starting of COVID-19 but still made it into theaters on March 4, 2022. Currently, “The Batman” is on HBO Max, Hulu, YouTube, Google Play movie, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and YouTube TV.
The New Batman movie goes over many aspects of Batman’s life and the things he does. The movie followed Batman’s quest to unmask the riddler because he kept killing important people trying to uncover their “lies.”
“The Batman” has an 8/10 rating on IMDb and 85% on Rotten Tomatoes, but not every viewer enjoyed it. “The movie was mid and the guy who played Batman should have stayed in ‘Twilight.’” said Journey Peatree ‘25.
This is one of the things that has many people split between liking the movie and not liking it. Many do not like it because of the fact that Robert Pattinson, who played Edward Cullen in Twilight, is the newest Batman. Many also think the same as Journey and believe he should have stayed in the “Twilight” saga.
With Robert Pattinson being the new Batman it has changed many people’s opinions on how they view him and the batman movie as a whole. Robert Pattinson is not the best Batman but he is not the worst. This movie has definitely a different perspective on the character himself. Normally they just show some conflict but nothing too serious. This time they took a darker approach to the making of the movie. In the end, he played the role very well even though some would rather he stayed in vampire movies.
The costumes and clothing in this movie are very good. Selina Kyle’s (Zoë Kravitz) outfit in the movie is mainly the same as others before although it is still very gorgeous and amazing. Many people when the movie first came out would make fun of the way Batman’s costume and the fact that he has a lot of smudged eyeliner under his eyes.
“When you finally get to put on the suit it just suddenly […] makes it real,” said Pattinson of the Batman costume. “You suddenly think you can do something totally different.”
One of the most exciting scenes in the new Batman movie is when Batman is in the chase with Penguin (1:19:38). This has to be one of the most nerve-wracking scenes because when the truck tips over and the fire starts it makes the viewer think that Batman was gone for good. When the fire started, it was like the final nail in the coffin that the Batman was gone, until you see Batman fly through the fire and crash into the Penguin.
In the end, the movie was good and it at least kept me interested and not completely bored out of my mind just waiting for something to happen. The movie took a darker approach with all the scandal and murder that happened. Overall, I liked the movie and Robert Pattinson was not as bad as I thought he would be. Before watching the movie some friends who saw it before me said they didn’t like the movie and that it was boring so knowing this I went into the movie with the mindset of the movie being bad but as I watched it more it got better and better. In the end, I really enjoyed everything about the movie.
