South Salem High School’s prom took place on April 15th at the historic Mission Mill in Salem, Oregon. The “Vegas” theme created a glamorous and exciting atmosphere, and over 400 students attended the event.
The prom began at 8 pm and ended at 10:30 pm, filled with activities such as music, dancing, photo booths and snacks. The students dressed up in their best attire, with many opting for sparkly dresses and suits.
One of the night’s highlights was the announcement of the prom king and queen. Jack Henry Majeski was crowned the prom king, while Alexis Reeves was named the prom queen. The couple has been together for five years making them the perfect fit for prom court. The announcement was met with cheers and applause from the crowd. “They all cheered super loudly, a lot of people came up to me after and congratulated me, everyone was really friendly.” prom queen Alexis Reeves said.
Apart from the crowning of the prom king and queen, the students had fun taking photos with their friends in the photo booth area and enjoying the snacks provided, such as cupcakes and cookies.
The event was a success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the organizers and volunteers. The Mission Mill provided a beautiful backdrop for the event, and the decorations added to the overall ambiance of the night. The DJ played a mix of current and classic hits, keeping the dance floor packed all night long.
