All sports have very different uniforms, but Saxon athletes have varying opinions on theirs. The typical volleyball uniform is spandex shorts and a long sleeve jersey, but players can opt for different jersey and pant garments. Most volleyball players approve of their uniforms but have a couple issues with certain features.
“I love that we have options, now people wear leggings or spandex and honestly I just choose what one is more comfortable, so long sleeve jersey and spandex is my go to uniform choice.” Said Avery Axmaker ‘25, defensive specialist.
Uniforms change depending on the games being played, but players still have flexible options for what they prefer to wear while they play.
“I love the new tank top with sleeves and spandex. They look so cool and have such a clean look to them,” Axmaker also said.
Coaches and players value appearing put-together and clean. Many volleyball players feel as though this has been achieved for the Saxon volleyball team.
“I think it would be fun to have colorful spandex like blue or red ones. I would also like to see more red shirts or a light blue shirt,” Said Madison Farnes ‘26, setter.
Currently, players have the option of pink shirts, blue shirts, and blue long sleeves all paired with black spandex. Coaches switch jerseys every game.
“Something I would change is [the fabric due to] sweat stains, because when you sweat it’s really bad”
“I’ve heard some of my teammates really don’t like our blue jersey but I think it’s the best one,” Farnes said.
Overall, most athletes enjoy the functionality and cleanliness of their uniforms. Naturally, there are some parts that they wish they could change .All in all, Saxon volleyball players approve of their uniforms.
