October 25 marked the beginning of the OSAA 6A Volleyball State Championships. On this opening night, South Salem High School hosted Sandy High School and left the game victorious in 3-0. The winning scores of each set were as follows: 25-11, 25-9 and 25-16. Due to this win, the Saxons are able to continue their postseason campaign and will next compete against Central Catholic High School. They have the privilege of hosting this game as they hold a higher Adjusted Playoff Ranking than the Rams. The Saxons hold the eighth ranking while the Rams sit behind them in ninth. This second-round match will be held on October 28 at 2 p.m.
