On April 18, the first open gym for the next cheerleading season occurred. These open gyms are an optional event for those interested in joining the Saxon Cheerleading team or those already participating in it. Open gyms occur April 18, 23 and 30 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM for current 8th graders and from 7:30 to 9:00 PM for 9th to 11th graders. Tryout clinics will be available for incoming freshmen on May 7, 8, and 9 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
Saxon Cheer is involved in cheerleading competitions around the state of Oregon and is a sideline cheer squad. Cheerleaders can commit to cheering during the Fall sports season as well as Winter. Cheer teams are on the sideline at football and basketball games.
