Introducing the New Bell Schedule at South Salem High School

This school year, South Salem High School has a new bell schedule. This includes a singular lunch of 42 minutes, opposed to last year’s system, which used two 30-minute lunches.

Class periods two-eight on Monday are 40 minutes long, while first period is 43 minutes. On Tuesdays, classes are 72 minutes long, whereas homeroom is 53 minutes.

Although school starts an hour later on Wednesdays, class periods are still 72 minutes long. Thursday and Friday classes are 87 minutes long. With these changes, South will continue to have an A/B schedule, like they have in previous years. Tuesdays and Thursdays are “A” days, meaning students are in periods one-four. Wednesdays and Fridays are “B” days, which are days when students attend fifth-eighth periods.
