Justin Rose graduated from South Salem High School in 2008 following his mother Kelly Brown’s footsteps. While Attending South, Rose was involved in multiple clubs and sports like Football, Wrestling, Choir, Track and Field, Leadership, Journalism and DECA.
“Football was amazing, I was able to earn a varsity starting spot as a junior.
Deca is something that changed my life as well as it is really where I learned I could be good at business,” Rose said.
Through his time at South, Rose was able to make many memories. But his favorites are the football games.
“My favorite memory about South is likely any home football game I participated in. Seeing the community come together and cheer the team on and the energy in that stadium with the school wrapped around it is something else,” Rose said.
Life Lessons
Attending South all four years, Rose has learned many life lessons that have stuck with him throughout his life.
“South has taught me that hard work pays off. Regardless if someone may have a better start in life than you or your situation you can always set your mind to something, work hard and achieve your goals,” Rose said.
Getting Inspired By Staff
Rose had plenty of staff members who inspired him to be the person he is today, but there were a couple who helped shape who he is today.
“Kathy August, Brian Armstrong, Scott Dufault and John Dixon. All of these teachers helped shape who I am today. I remember one day in Dixon’s class where I was goofing off, as usual, he told me that I am very talented, I just do not ever put any effort into things and if I did I could achieve anything. This conversation spurred me to where I am today, inspiring me to go to the University of Oregon, graduate and get a job where I can manage businesses and travel the world,” Rose said.
Achieving The Goals
After achieving his goal of graduating from the University of Oregon, Rose now is still achieving that goal by having a job where he travels around the world.
“I am a Global Partner Manager for Amazon Customer Service. I manage all the call centers that Amazon business uses in other countries. This job allows me to travel the world and very often I go to places such as India, the Philippines and South America,” Rose said
