All Saxon Orchestras Take First at ’25 OSAA State Championships

The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) held the Orchestra State Championships on May 15, 2025. South Salem High School’s Chamber and Symphonic Orchestras won first place out of 15 schools competing. 

“This incredible group of multitalented, kind, and hardworking student musicians has made us proud all year, both on and off the stage,” Daimen Berdakin said in an email to all South staff.

South won with 309 points, West Salem High School took second with 289 points. McNary High School and Sprague High School tied for third with 284 points. Both performances can be viewed one YouTube.
