The Saxon’s Girls Flag Football team wins the first game in State playoffs, moving on to the quarter finals on Saturday, May 17.
South Salem High School entered with a 12-1 record going into the first round of the playoffs and beat the Pleasant Hill Billies, advancing to the next round of the tournament.
The Lady Saxons are the defending state champions and will play at Gresham High School for their quarter finals game. Teams like Central Catholic and Banks High School may prove to be potential roadblocks for a chance of back-to-back state victories. South Salem High School looks to win the eight-team round robin tournament tomorrow, where the quarter finals, semifinals and championship game will be played.
South Salem’s roster consists of many student athletes that are experienced with the pressure high school sports brings.
