This past Tuesday, November 4th, YouTube hosted the season three premiere of comedian Brittany Broski’s talk show, “Royal Court”. Brittany Broski rose to fame in 2019 when a TikTok of her trying Kombucha went viral. Since then, she has grown her platform and reached over seven million followers on TikTok and over two million on her main YouTube channel. She also hosts a podcast on YouTube and Spotify, “The Broski Report”, and a talk show on YouTube called “Royal Court”.
“Royal Court” has had many pop culture royalty guests since its start in July 2023. Recent celebrity guests include Josh Hutcherson, Finn Wolfhard, Fred Armisen, Saoirse Ronan, Brie Larson, Aaron Taylor Johnson and Trixie Mattel. Every episode, the celebrity guest is fully submerged in the medieval style of the show during their interview. While taste testing 15th- century dining, the guest competes for the opportunity to be on Brittany’s medieval council.
“The goal was to create a silly, conversational talk show environment that makes for a playful and carefree conversation that allows the guest’s true personality to shine. They are also required to wear a cape. That helps too,” Brittany said in an interview with Nerds That Geek
The season three premiere was a medieval style party, featuring sword-fighting knights, a tarot reader and a wizard to entertain the crowd. Many celebrities and former guests on “Royal Court” also attended the premiere, such as Trixie Mattel and Rhett McLaughlin.
“Last night was something straight out of a fairytale. It was beyond special to celebrate the crew, team, guests, and partners that make this show what it is – it takes a village y’all!!” Broski said on her Instagram.
“Royal Court” brings a new age of talk shows. Late night talk shows on televisions are not very popular with Gen Z, but “Royal Court” has the possibility of reviving the genre. Brittany Broski’s witty and humorous personality combined with the whimsy of the show creates a unique form of entertainment that today’s television lacks.
