Custodian Mayflor Lundblade, who works here at South has received the Golden Broom Award, presented by the International Sanitary Supply Association/INTERCLEAN North America [ISSA/INTERCLEAN NA], for her excellence of doing her job.
“I have been working at South for seven years,” said Lundblade. “I like South, I really enjoy the kids here. It is my responsibility to make sure the halls of South stay clean and that there is no garbage.”
According to the company website, “ISAA/INTERCLEAN NA aims to give an impression of the future of cleaning and also put together ideas around innovation…The [Golden Broom Award] competition stimulates the development of new cleaning technologies and products.” Lundblade has recently been subbing for another fellow South custodian, Mark. His absence was caused by an injuring that prohibited him from working.
“I was surprised because I was not really expecting it,” Lundblade said.“Before I started my career at South, I was a sub for other schools around the district. I worked at school such as Waldo, Judson, and I even subbed at South.”
According to ISSA/INTERCLEAN NA, this hard working custodian got the award she deserves, for her commitment and persistence in doing her job.
