Girls golf has been off to a great season, having an undefeated record so far. They have been racking up points at every meet and are definitely off to a great start. “We’ve won all of our tournaments so far so I think we have a pretty good chance at districts,” Ashley Zhu ‘18 said.
Last meet at Spring Valley in West Albany, they came out first, beating West Salem by 3 points. The girls have been working hard and it has been showing. Just like the most recent meet, the first one went smoothly as well; the girls placed first.
Zhu was nominated for the Statesman Journal athlete of the week with her hole in one and scoring a 70 at the Santiam Golf Club competing at the Salem Area Youth Golf tournament.
“I had my first hole in one this past Saturday at Santiam Golf Club and I also won with my best round at being 4 under par,” Zhu said. “As a team I think we’re doing really good and I’m feeling pretty good about my own game personally, but I still plan to improve throughout the season.”
