With 12 matches and one tournament played so far, the Saxon Boys Tennis team believes that they can make it to the state championship in May.
“I think, for the team, the goal would be to place top three in districts and to send a good number of guys to the state tournament. It’s very possible and probable for this year,” Jimin Lee ‘16 said.
Some of the highlights of this season include the Saxon Invitational, where the team played some of the state’s best teams and players.
“We didn’t win a lot, but it was still lots of fun. Alex [Fedor] had a really tough match against someone, and watching that was lots of fun,” Trenton Bastasch ‘17 said.
While the team still has the potential to make it to state, some players have expressed doubt about how the team has done so far.
“We’ve definitely not been playing up to our potential, but I think we’ll pick it up. We just need to find our motivation again,” Jimin Lee ‘16 said.
