Girls Soccer: A Promising Season

This 2016-17 season kicked off with a record of 1-3-2 [1 tie, 3 wins, 2 losses] for the South Salem girls varsity soccer team this preseason. The first league game was on Thursday sept. 22. The girl’s team captains are Hannah Hersh ‘17, Kaitlyn Paluska ‘17, and Lindsay Flood ‘17. With the season still beginning, there are many goals for the young team.
““This season the team is looking substantially better than last year. We’ve come together and have agreed that this season is going to be filled hard work, intensity, and fun. We should go far this season and into playoffs. One of our biggest team goals is to put in 100% effort and give our all and to stay together as one.” Nayeli Buchanan ‘17 said.
“A team goal is to be more positive and I think we’re doing good with that. We’ve definitely improved from last year on our positivity and team chemistry.” Lexie Wasser ‘18 said.
“I think we’re going to do really good in conference, each game we’ve progressed and I think it’ll be good. Last year we lost over half of the team so it was more of a building year and that kind of hurt our season, but we did alright. A team goal for this season is to win the gvc.” Cheyenne Kadin ‘18 said.
