The National Language Exams for French and Spanish will be providing a makeup day for students that were absent the day of the test.
There are many study habits people have developed over time.  According to TopUniversities.com the best way to be prepared is to, “give yourself enough time to study”.  Having enough time to study is critical for test preparation, as it is important to be able to understand the material and apply it to the outside world.  Although time is  important most students have also found the best way to study is to break up the standard sections and study them separately.
“Study vocabulary terms separate,” Zoelle Collins ‘17, a French student said.
Advantages to taking the exams are such as awards, scholarships, and getting a job in the future.  Taking the exam for a second language helps one’s application when applying for a job by showing knowledge in that area.
“Benefits for applications,” Emma DenBeste ‘17 said.
The National German exam results have been received, giving people an award for placing in gold, silver, bronze, and achievement.  Levels in German that have taken the test are two, three, and four.  This exam was held in December with approximately 40 students entering.  South Salem High is the only school in the Salem-Keizer district where students are given the opportunity to take the National German Exam.  Knorr has been taking the German exam since sophomore year, and this year he has placed first in the state for the German Exam.
“It is good for scholarships,” Alex Knorr ‘17 said.
