The Saxon’s Got Talent – talent show is an assembly where students show their special abilities by performing on stage. This event was held on B-day May 26, 2017 in the main gym. Judges of this assembly were: Elisabeth Saxe, Kenneth Miller, and Coach Lacey. This contest only had one winner, and the prize received was the right to brag.  Students that appeared on stage for the talent show were:

  • Alexander Knorr ‘17 playing “Dragonborn”on the piano.
  • Ariel Garcia ‘20 singing “Someone New” and performing in an acapella group.
  • This is Austin Copelan ‘17 third year performing in the Saxons Got Talent show, this year he has decided to do a magic act with the hope of entertaining the audience.

“It’s at the end of the year so people are relaxed. This event showcases how talented our student body is, and it’s completely run by students,” Kathleen August, the leadership teacher, said.
People sang along, cheered, and were waving flashlights along with the music.  Judges decided to sum up the four best performances, leaving the crowd to pick a winner.  The last groups summed up were Carlos, Mikaya, and Trace, Kudzai and Kundai, the acapella group, and Conrad.  At the end, the winner was Conrad, chosen for his Gangnam Style dance even while having to improvise when he faced technical difficulties with the music.
On this occasion the leadership class not only made posters, but they also held auditions, encouraged the performers, and prepared the assembly by setting up the night before.
