Athlete Spotlight: Tori Doten

Tori Doten ‘17 has been playing as an infielder on the varsity baseball team for South since his freshman year. Doten has been in the Saxon baseball program through three different head coaches, finishing off his South career with Coach Price. Doten plans to continue playing baseball after high school at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington next year.
“I have made a lot of friends through baseball, it’s a really important part of my life,”  Doten said.
He has received a lot of support from his family in his baseball career. They push him to improve and make sure that he has everything that he needs to succeed.
“My dad is the most influential person in my life, getting me to practice and pushing me to get better,” Doten said.
During this 2017 season, Doten was joined on the field by his younger brother, Kaiden Doten ‘19. The Doten brothers support each other and push each other on the field to improve and perform at their highest level.
“It’s really cool playing with my brother [Tori], he’s someone I can look up to and seeing where he’s going with baseball inspires me to work harder,” Kaiden said.
Tori will finish out his senior season with the Saxons, placing third in the Greater Valley Conference, making First Team All-League and receiving All-State Honorable Mention.
