Lacrosse Wrap Up

The Saxon Boys lacrosse team finished the 2017 season with a record of 1-14. They started their season with a 15-8 win over Hillsboro, giving the Saxons hope for a successful season.
“Having new, more experienced coaches helped us a lot,” Lucas Hildahl ‘18 said.
South struggled through the rest of season, ending with a 2-21 loss against the Sprague Olympians. Despite challenges throughout the season, the Saxons feel that they grew closer as a team. Returning players like Hildahl  and Derek Ettel ‘18 took steps to bring the team together from the start and set a precedent for team dynamic in future seasons.
“We worked really hard all season to come together as a family and eliminate bickering on the team. It was important to us to have a family feel between all of the players,” Hildahl said.
With a young team, the Saxons boys lacrosse team has room to grow and further their bond with each other. Many players have already begun preparing for next year and improving their skills as athletes and lacrosse players.
“Working hard in the off season will help us to get better,” Ettel said, “and have a good showing next year.”
