Saxons Spring Break Sports Review

Spring break is a time for a break from school but the Saxons spring teams were competing to increase their rankings as they entered many tournaments and played many games across all sports. The Saxons played in 3 tournaments and did well in all as they represented South.
The baseball team travelled to Boise, ID to play in the Buck’s Bags Spring Classic where they had a record of 3-1 with two of the games the Saxons ten runned their opponents. After the tournament, the baseball team stayed at #1 in the OSAA State rankings .
The softball team went down to play in the North Medford Spring Break Invitational where they went 1-3 but fought hard in all of their games and played two Top 10 teams in the state in Grants Pass and North Medford. After the tournament, the girls moved to #32 in the state.
The girls golf team did good as well as Ashley Zhu ‘18 won her second GVC Tournament of the year staying undefeated so far this season. On average, she is winning each GVC tournament by 7.5 strokes.
Overall, the Saxons represented in each of their individual tournaments that they attended. The Saxons are hoping to continue this early success through the rest of the season.
